Clip Styles and Information

At Little Bow Peep, we use only the finest hardware available. For our barrettes, we use the one-piece "Made In France" Barrette. This is the finest clip available. It's made in France (shown in picture below) and is more expensive, but it’s just plain better. Asian copies usually have a removable metal bar in the middle, which often falls out, rendering the hair bow unwearable. That’s why we only use the "Made In France" barrette. French barrettes are perfect for a girl with a full head of hair. We offer this clip in three sizes!

Pinch Clips are also a very popular choice. These sturdy clips are great for pulling back a little bit of hair. Some moms prefer them because they are easy to put on a toddler who’s wiggling around and have the added benefit of easy removal for both mom and baby. (Babies won't tear their hair out with the barrette with this style clip.)

Our pinch clips are lined in either matching grosgrain or velvet for asthetics and for a tighter grip on her hair. The grosgrain lined pinch clips are a requirement for hair bows that are to be worn with our headbands. Velvet lined clips do offer a tighter grip on super fine hair as the clip is lined on all sides BUT are not suitable for use with our headbands. Babies or toddlers with fine hair can start out wearing our interchangeable knit headbands with our hair bows pinch clipped to them. Then, when they have a fuller head of hair, they can wear the bows alone. They grow with her!

We also offer the plastic barrette with teeth by special request. Just let us know in the checkout notes that you'd like this clip option.
